This blog is usually home to my most recent wedding photographs but I still work as a news photographer when I get the chance.
This unique warehouse fire at 38th & Ashland made for some interesting and icy photographs. The Chicago Fire Department had been battling the blaze for 3 days.
On a very cold afternoon, Nathan surprised his girlfriend Rebecca by proposing to her near the Adler Planetarium. This pre planned event allowed me to capture the moment with two cameras, one remote, using the city skyline as the main shot. My second camera captured Rebecca’s expression as Nathan popped the question. As you can see in this sequence of images, the answer was yes!
Later, we took some engagement portraits in downtown Chicago.
Jennifer and George were married November 9, 2012 in an all in one wedding at the Renaissance North Shore Hotel in Northbrook, IL. Since I recently moved my wedding photography studio to Glenview, it was a short commute.
With some chilly weather going on outside, the bride and groom decided to shoot their portraits indoors. There were many great photo ops in this colorful hotel and we took advantage of all of them.
If you are a regular visitor to my blog, you may recognize this wonderful couple who were officially engaged back in June. Michael surprised Amber by proposing at sunset across from the Adler Planetarium with the Chicago skyline as a backdrop.
They’ve since booked me as their Chicago Wedding Photographer. On Saturday, we took the time to capture some special locations, including Wells St., the Chicago River and as huge Chicago Bears fans, Soldier Field.
With such a photogenic couple, their August 2013 wedding photos will be a breeze!

Kathryn and Steve were married September 22, 2012 at the Saddle and Cycle Club. Like most couples, the newlyweds wanted a wedding photographer in Chicago to capture some of their favorite locations.
The day began when I met the bride at the Club for some traditional “getting ready photos”.
We then headed over to Lilly Pond on Fullerton where the bride and groom had their first glance moment. As the ceremony time approached, we made one last stop at Montrose Harbour and worked the beautiful skyline view into our portraits.
The all in one wedding was great and my first visit to this venue.
Chelsea and Justin tied the knot on Saturday, September 15th at St. Raymond’s in Morton Grove, IL. It was a beautiful day to get married and ideal for a wedding photographer, not too hot, not too cold and plenty of great light.
Our day began at Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling, IL where the Bride and brides maids were getting ready. We then traveled to the ceremony and back for more photos and the reception. It was a great day, congratulations to the newlyweds!
Technically, Alessandra and Michael’s wedding was in Mount Charleston, Nevada but I couldn’t resist the title of this post.
There’s nothing like a destination wedding to add a little more excitement to my career. Over Labor Day weekend, the bride, groom, family and friends, including this Chicago wedding photographer, all traveled to Las Vegas, about 30 miles from the wedding location.
After getting ready and a first glance by the bride and groom, we traveled further into the Sierra Nevada Mountains and used some breathtaking backdrops for wedding portraits.
The all in one wedding was held at the Mt. Charleston Lodge. After an outdoor ceremony, a big, bright and beautiful yellow moon rose above the mountains. Photographing the moon can be difficult but the bride and groom took the time to pose until we hit right shot. I told them they’d be happy they did!

With their wedding in Mount Charleston Nevada, I met Alessandra and Michael in Las Vegas, for a quick engagement session on the strip.
The Fountains of Bellagio, one of Las Vegas’ most watched attractions, made an exciting and fun backdrop for our session. Along with Destination Weddings, I also shoot Engagement Portraits around the country.
